Logitech has unveiled its latest addition to the gaming accessories lineup, the Signature Slim Solar K980, a revolutionary solar-powered keyboard that eliminates the hassle of needing direct sunlight for charging. This impressive device can harness light from any source, ensuring you can keep typing even in complete darkness for up to four months once fully charged. The only requirement is that the light source reaches a minimum brightness of 200 lux, which is easily achievable even in dim indoor lighting.
"Even the thought of having to charge a device can be a distraction, so we designed the Signature Slim Solar to completely remove that concern," says Art O'Gnimh, General Manager of Core Products Group at Logitech.
This keyboard is powered by a rechargeable battery that Logitech claims can last for an astounding 10 years. In the rare event that a malfunction occurs, users can conveniently replace the battery themselves, as it is encased in plastic and available for purchase through iFixit. The keyboard features a light-absorbing strip positioned above the keys, which utilize a scissor-switch mechanism in a full-size layout, complete with a separate number pad. It is compatible with multiple operating systems and allows users to connect with up to three devices, seamlessly switching between them using its Easy-Switch keys. Additionally, the Logi Options app enables users to program action keys to automate tasks and customize an AI launch key for instant access to their preferred AI chatbot.
The Signature Slim Solar K980 is now available for CAD 100, with a business variant featuring a USB-C receiver priced at CAD 110. For Mac users, Logitech also offers a model tailored specifically for Mac for CAD 110.
