Prohibited Posting Practices
Location and Legality
- Listing items located outside Canada
- Offering items illegal to own, buy, or sell in your province
- Posting items from our Prohibited Content List
Content Integrity
- Posting duplicate ads across multiple categories
- Using multiple email addresses to circumvent posting limits
- Creating ads solely to drive traffic to external websites
- Including irrelevant keywords unrelated to the listed item
- Posting in languages other than English or French
- Misrepresenting business status (individual vs. professional seller)
Content Restrictions
- Adult, mature, or erotic content (personal ads prohibited)
- Defamatory statements or hate speech targeting individuals/groups
- Opinion pieces, notices, or discussion topics better suited for social media
- Attempts to profit from natural disasters, health crises, or tragedies
Category-Specific Policies
Misrepresentation
- Intentionally categorizing items incorrectly
- Providing misleading information about items or services
- Concealing professional seller status as private individual
Additional Restrictions
Financial and Digital Items
- Cryptocurrency mining schemes or investment opportunities
- Unauthorized ticket reselling above face value
- Digital goods without verifiable ownership rights
Services and Solicitations
- Multi-level marketing recruitment posts
- Services requiring provincial licensing without proof
- Third-party lead generation requests
Automotive Listings
- Vehicles with undisclosed salvage titles
- Odometer discrepancies without documentation
- Vehicles non-compliant with provincial safety standards
Property Listings
- Rental properties without verifiable ownership
- Discriminatory rental terms violating human rights codes
- Timeshare resales without proper documentation
Important Notices
Age Requirements
- Users must be at least 16 years old to post independently
- Ads for users under 16 must be posted by supervising adults
Enforcement Measures
- Non-compliant ads will be removed without notice
- Repeated violations may result in permanent account suspension
- Fiva Marketplace reserves the right to remove any content deemed harmful to our community
Legal Compliance
All transactions must comply with Canadian federal and provincial laws. Sellers are responsible for:
- Verifying item legality in their specific location
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
- Obtaining necessary permits/licenses for regulated items
Prohibited by Canadian Law
- Items regulated under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Wildlife products violating Species at Risk Act
- Counterfeit goods infringing Trademarks Act
- Hate speech violating Criminal Code Section 319
- Pyramid schemes prohibited by Competition Act
